Chapter 9 - The Decoy at the Federal CourtWhile Daniel and Claire were fighting

The federal courtroom was eerily empty, filled only with the Vance legal team and a judge who refused to look the prosecution in the eye.

"Your Honor," Arthur Vance argued, his voice smooth and dripping with artificial sorrow. "The tragic abduction of my nephew’s wife by a rogue medical professional has left her psychology permanently fractured. We have medical affidavits from our family clinics stating she is incapable of rational thought. We ask for an immediate summary judgment to protect the child and the corporate estate."

Just as the judge raised his wooden gavel to seal the order, the heavy oak doors at the back of the courtroom were thrown open with a violent thud.

Detective Miller marched down the center aisle, her badge held high, followed by a team of heavily armed agents from the Department of Justice’s Internal Affairs division.

"Hold your gavel, Your Honor," Miller announced, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "We have just executed a federal warrant on the Vance Pharmaceuticals mountain facility. We have the decrypted server logs, the physical chemical samples, and a direct federal mandate to take over this courtroom. Arthur Vance, you are under arrest for treasonous corporate espionage and conspiracy to commit murder."

Arthur’s face turned the color of ash as the federal agents swarmed the defense table, clicking the steel cuffs onto his wrists. But the victory was incomplete—Julian Vance was still missing, and he was hunting for the final asset.
