Chapter 3: Elena’s Memory Gap

That night, Elena woke screaming.
Alejandro was at her side instantly, holding her shoulders as she gasped for air.
“I saw the room again,” she whispered. “The white room. They kept asking me to sign things I couldn’t read.”
“What room?” Alejandro asked softly.
Her eyes were unfocused. “I don’t remember where it was. I just remember being told you agreed to it… that you left me there.”
Alejandro felt a sharp fracture of rage beneath his ribs.
He pulled her closer. “I never left you. Whatever they told you wasn’t real.”
But Elena wasn’t fully convinced. Not yet.
