Chapter 8 - The Echoes of ChristmasYears later, Oliver decided to throw a gala at the Plaza. It was an anniversary event for the Vance Legacy Foundation, a gala that brought together the brightest minds in architecture, shipping, and philanthropy.

She stood in the same ballroom where the wine-stained nightmare had begun. The room was just as glittering, the lilies just as fragrant, but the atmosphere was entirely different. There was no pretense, no cold hierarchy.

Liam was not invited, nor was Constance. But rumors reached her that Constance was still bitter, still talking about how "the library girl" had stolen everything.

Oliver didn't care. She was surrounded by people who loved her for her brilliance, her compassion, and her sharp, unwavering wit. As she stood under the crystal chandelier, holding a glass of sparkling water, she caught her reflection in the mirror near the entrance.

She wasn't wearing a shapeless gray gown. She was wearing a deep, vibrant crimson silk dress—a bold, deliberate choice that celebrated her survival. She looked strong, radiant, and absolutely at peace.

Julian, now a bright, curious young boy, tugged at her hand. "Mom, can we go see the library? You promised to tell me the story of how you started."

"Yes, we can," Oliver said, beaming as she looked down at him. "Let’s go."

As she walked out of the ballroom, she didn't look back. The ghost of the girl who had been humiliated was finally laid to rest, and the woman who had built an empire stood tall, ready to start the next chapter of her life.
