The legislation became known simply as The Noah Act.
Hospitals adopted stricter safeguards.
Research ethics changed worldwide.
Miles was invited to speak at the first conference.
Standing before hundreds of scientists, he looked almost uncomfortable.
"I don't hate science," he began.
"I hate forgetting why we create it."
The auditorium remained silent.
"My mother believed technology should protect people."
"Gregory believed people should serve technology."
He paused.
"The difference between those ideas..."
"...changed thousands of lives."
The audience stood in applause.
But Miles looked only toward the front row.
