Chapter 11 - The Traitress ExposedThe reaction from the family was swift and violent.

Three days after our meeting with the IRS, Natalie’s phone was discovered. Julian had installed spyware on her device, tracking her communications with me and Clara.

At 10:00 PM, my phone rang. It was Natalie, crying hysterically.

"Valerie! Help me!" she screamed through the phone. I could hear things breaking in the background, followed by Julian’s enraged shouting.

"Natalie! Where are you?" I demanded, already grabbing my keys and rushing to the door.

"I’m in the guest room... Julian found the files... he’s trying to break the door down—"

The call abruptly cut off.

I immediately dialed 911, giving them the address of Natalie and Julian’s home in Cherry Hills. Then, I called my security team. "I need two guards to meet me at this address right now!"

I drove like a woman possessed, my heart hammering against my ribs. When I arrived at the suburban estate, two police cruisers were already parked in the driveway, their sirens wailing.

I rushed inside just as the officers were leading Julian out in handcuffs. He was yelling obscenities, his face red with anger.

Victoria and Richard were also there, standing on the lawn, screaming at the police.

"This is a family matter! Get off our property!" Victoria shrieked.

Then, she saw me.

She marched toward me, her hand raised as if to strike me. "You! You did this! You ruined my family! You snake!"

My security guard immediately stepped in front of me, blocking her path.

"Don't touch her," the guard said sternly.

I looked past Victoria to see Natalie being helped out of the house by a female officer. She had a bruised cheek, but she was holding her head high. She had her two young children wrapped in blankets beside her.

"Natalie, come with me," I said, opening my car door.

Natalie didn't look back at the mansion, or her husband, or her in-laws. She walked straight to my car, got into the passenger seat, and secured her children in the back.

As I backed out of the driveway, I rolled down my window and looked at Victoria.

"I told you," I said calmly. "You had no idea who you were dealing with."
