Chapter 7 - The ConfrontationShe walked into the bedroom, confident and cold. When she saw the photo on the floor, she stopped, a satisfied smirk on her lips.

"It’s about time she learned her place," she murmured, looking down at the broken glass.
"Mom," I said from the doorway.
She turned around, and for the first time, her face faltered. I wasn't alone. Julian was standing behind me, holding a tablet displaying a clear record of her bank transfers to the security firm and the fake photos she had created.
"What is this?" she hissed.
"It’s the end of your leverage, Mom," Julian said. "We have the logs from the security firm you hired. We have the audio of you threatening Clara’s unborn child. And we have the evidence that you’ve been embezzling from the firm for the last five years."
Her eyes darted to the door. "You think you can stop me? I’m your mother!"

"You're a criminal," I corrected her, my voice devoid of emotion.
She lunged for her briefcase, but Julian was faster, pinning her hand to the desk. The documents inside were exposed: forged signatures, falsified legal documents, and the photos she had used to gaslight my wife.
