Tim Walz Under Fire As Multiple Scandals Mount
Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz is facing two massive scandals that could put his re-election campaign at risk. Walz is being slammed for using $430,000 of taxpayer money for “debate prep,” as well as allegations that he was aware of large-scale fraud involving state aid programs within the Somali community.
Nearly 500 employees in Minnesota’s state government say Walz ignored repeated internal warnings about large-scale fraud involving state aid programs within the Somali community and that he retaliated against staff who raised concerns.
The employees, who work within the state Department of Human Services, have for several years operated an anonymous X account outlining what they describe as ongoing cases of fraud and misuse of public funds.
The group has previously issued warnings to state leaders and to Minnesota residents about patterns of financial abuse they say they identified in program oversight.
In a new post, the employees alleged that Walz not only failed to act on their alerts but also took punitive measures against staff members who attempted to report the issues through official channels.
“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota,” the group said in a November 29 post referencing a New York Times article on the crimes. “We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud, but no, we got the opposite response.
“Tim Walz systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports,” they added. “Instead of partnership, we got the full weight of retaliation by Tim Walz, certain DFL members, and an indifferent mainstream media. It’s scary, isolating, and left us wondering who we can turn to.”
The whistleblowers also allege that Walz “disempowered the Office of the Legislative Auditor” to allow the fraud to continue freely and “attacked whistleblowers who were trying to raise red flags on fraudulent activities.”
Scrutiny of Walz has intensified following reports that some Minnesota state aid dollars may have been diverted to an African terrorist organization, Breitbart News reported.
Beyond the allegations of widespread fraud within Minnesota’s welfare programs, investigators have identified instances in which Somali migrants allegedly funneled millions in taxpayer funds to al-Shabaab, an Islamic extremist group operating in East Africa.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that his department is examining whether Minnesota state funds were improperly routed to al-Shabaab.
The investigation follows earlier reports that fraud within the state’s aid programs reached far beyond financial losses and may have contributed to overseas terrorist financing.
Fraud allegations have surfaced across multiple Minnesota welfare and aid programs, extending well beyond the Department of Human Services.
One of the earliest and largest cases involved Feeding Our Future, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit whose operators — many of them members of the local Somali community — are accused by federal prosecutors of stealing approximately $250 million in child nutrition funds.
Additional investigations have uncovered tens of millions of dollars in alleged fraud within Minnesota’s autism treatment program, as well as more than $550 million in losses tied to the state’s coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.
A separate Feeding Our Future–related case also centers on the alleged theft of over $250 million in state pandemic-era aid meant to provide meals for children. Federal authorities say the various schemes represent some of the largest cases of public-assistance fraud in state history and involve networks of individuals across multiple programs.
That’s not the only scandal Walz is facing.
Republican state lawmakers in Minnesota have sharply criticized Walz after it was revealed he spent $430,000 of taxpayer money preparing for a recent House congressional hearing investigating blue state governors’ “sanctuary city” policies.
Walz’s office hired the prominent global law firm K&L Gates to assist with preparations for his mid-June testimony before the GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee, which focused on questions about his and other blue state governors’ sanctuary city policies.
In May alone, Walz incurred approximately $232,000 in legal fees, with an average hourly rate of about $516, according to the invoices obtained by the Star Tribune.
The outlet further reported that K&L Gates worked with Walz’s office from April 10 through the June 12 hearing, with the legal preparation costing taxpayers a total of $430,000.
Minnesota Rep. Jim Nash, one of two Republicans on the state’s Legislative Advisory Commission, questioned why Walz chose to hire outside counsel instead of relying on the state’s attorneys and public relations experts.
Republican Minnesota state Rep. Harry Niska added there “appears to be no legitimate legal interest in the state racking up nearly half-a-million dollars in what amounts to PR consulting.”
Federal Authorities Announce Major Security Arrest as Presidential Protection Intensifies
A high-profile federal law enforcement operation has resulted in the arrest of an individual on serious charges related to threats against the nation’s highest office, highlighting the ongoing security challenges facing federal authorities in an increasingly polarized political climate. The case has drawn national attention due to both the severity of the alleged threats and the prominent federal official announcing the arrest. Breaking: High-Level DOJ Announcement Signals Serious Threat
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro made an extraordinary public announcement that has sent shockwaves through law enforcement and political circles nationwide. The former Fox News host, now serving in one of the Department of Justice’s most prestigious positions, took the unusual step of personally announcing a major arrest in a case involving threats against President Donald Trump.
Mamdani’s Socialist Allies To Primary Hakeem Jeffries, Other N.Y. House Dems

Zohran Mamdani’s democratic socialist allies are reportedly considering primary challenges next year against several congressional Democrats in New York City, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
However, a senior political advisor to Jeffries has vowed that anyone attempting to unseat the top Democrat in the House during next year’s primaries will face a “forceful and unrelenting” response, Fox News is reporting.
Mamdani, the 33-year-old Ugandan-born democratic socialist assemblyman from Queens, sent political shockwaves nationwide with his decisive victory two weeks ago over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary.
His win marks a significant step toward potentially becoming the city’s first Muslim mayor, but would also signal the Democratic Party’s increasing shift to the extreme far-left.
In the wake of Mamdani’s primary victory in June, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) highlighted that “this movement is bigger than one person, election, city, or organization.”
“We encourage all people inspired by the Zohran campaign to join their local DSA or YDSA chapter and get involved so we can continue to fight alongside Zohran and DSA elected officials across the country to create the future we all deserve,” the party added.
Now, following Mamdani’s victory, DSA leaders are reportedly considering mounting primary challenges not only against Jeffries but also other House Democrats representing New York City districts, including Reps. Ritchie Torres, Jerry Nadler, Dan Goldman, and Yvette Clarke, Fox added.
Jeffries, who succeeded longtime House Democratic leader and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi two years ago, has faced criticism from some of New York City’s far-left leaders, who label him a moderate and establishment Democrat.
“His leadership has left a vacuum that organizations like DSA are filling. I think that is more important right now,” New York City’s Democratic Socialists of America chapter co-chair Gustavo Gordillo said in a CNN interview recently.
Democratic socialist state Sen. Jabari Brisport, who represents some of the same areas of Brooklyn that Jeffries does in the U.S. House, told Fox News in a statement that the longtime congressman is “rapidly growing out of touch with an insurgent and growing progressive base within his own district that he should pay more attention to.”
Democratic strategist Andre Richardson, a senior political advisor to Jeffries, highlighted the sweeping actions taken by President Donald Trump during the early months of his second term in the White House that the left vehemently opposes, said, “Leader Hakeem Jeffries is focused on taking back the House from the MAGA extremists who just ripped health care away from millions of Americans.”

Richardson also sent a warning in a statement to CNN against a hard-left primary challenge to Jeffries. “If Team Gentrification [Mamdani allies] wants a primary fight, our response will be forceful and unrelenting. We will teach them and all of their incumbents a painful lesson on June 23, 2026,” he warned.
The tension is escalating as pressure mounts on state and local Democrats in the city to support Mamdani in the general election, amid fears they could face primary challenges if they fail to join his coalition. Mamdani will face Republican Curtis Sliwa in November, while former Governor Andrew Cuomo and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams will appear on the ballot under minor party lines, the New York Post noted.
Brooklyn State Assemblywoman Phara Souffrant Forrest, a DSA member whose district overlaps with Jeffries’ congressional seat, cautioned Jeffries to be careful what he wishes for.
“Weird threat to make since Hakeem already went after @JabariBrisport [DSA state senator] and I.How’d that go for him, again?” Forrest said in a statement on X on Thursday.
“2022 Primary Results: SD 22 Jabari Brisport: 70.4%. AD 57 Phara Souffrant Forrest: 67.2% If the leader wants another public beatdown, he knows where to find me,” Forrest added.

BREAKING: Mike Johnson Reveals Chuck Schumer demanded $4 million for
House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed on Tuesday that Democrats are demanding billions in wasteful and ideological spending, including $3.9 million for LGBTQI+ democracy grants in the Western Balkans, as part of their conditions to reopen the government.
Speaking on the 14th day of what he called the Democrat government shutdown, Johnson said the American people are suffering because Democrats have chosen politics over responsibility.
“Welcome to day 14 of the Democrat government shutdown,” Johnson said during his press briefing. “It’s two weeks of Democrats in Congress inflicting untold pain on the American people for nothing other than pure politics.”
Johnson explained that House Republicans had already offered a clean continuing resolution to keep the government funded, but Democrats repeatedly rejected it.
Instead, he said, Democrats are tying unrelated left-wing priorities to essential government operations in an attempt to strong-arm Republicans into approving radical spending measures.
He accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of catering to what he described as the party’s “Marxist base.”
The Speaker laid out details from the Democrats’ counterproposal, calling it a $1.5 trillion wish list of reckless spending that would send taxpayer money to liberal causes and foreign projects that have nothing to do with running the U.S. government.
Among the examples he cited were $24.6 million for climate resilience programs in Honduras.
Another $13.4 million would go to civic engagement programs in Zimbabwe.
An additional $2.9 million is earmarked for desert locust risk reduction in the Horn of Africa.
The Democrats’ plan also calls for $2 million to fund “organizing for feminist democratic principles” in Africa, according to Johnson.
Johnson highlighted the $3.9 million in LGBTQI+ democracy grants for the Western Balkans as an example of Democrats’ misplaced priorities.
“They want to spend 3.9 million of your hard-earned dollars for LGBTQI+ democracy grants in the Western Balkans,” Johnson said. “We are not doing that.”
He argued that Democrats are also trying to undo common-sense reforms enacted by Republicans that prevent illegal immigrants from accessing taxpayer-funded healthcare.
“This is a fact,” he said. “They would add illegal aliens and non-citizens back to taxpayer-funded benefits. It would cost taxpayers nearly $200 billion.”
Johnson further warned that Democrats want to roll back modest work requirements placed on able-bodied young men without dependents.
At the same time, Democrats are pushing to make COVID-era Obamacare subsidies permanent, with no income limits or meaningful reforms.
Johnson said this approach would not only punish working Americans but also reward dependency and mismanagement.
The Speaker accused Democrats of prioritizing ideological projects over the immediate needs of the American people.
He said their proposal exposes how out of touch the party has become, highlighting spending for causes abroad while Americans face uncertainty at home.
“This is not about keeping the lights on,” Johnson said. “This is about Democrats trying to use the shutdown as leverage to fund their far-left agenda.”
Johnson reminded reporters that Republicans have already passed legislation to reopen the government responsibly, without any of the unrelated political riders Democrats insist on including.
The Republican plan, he said, would maintain government operations, protect taxpayers, and prevent wasteful spending abroad.
Johnson also pointed out that the Democrats’ proposal would restore funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, sending a half-billion dollars to what he described as liberal media outlets that have long benefited from taxpayer subsidies.
He described it as another example of Democrats using government funding to reward their political allies rather than serving the public good.
“These are not the priorities of the American people,” Johnson said firmly. “They are the priorities of a radical political class that has forgotten who they work for.”
The Speaker ended his remarks by calling on Democrats to stop the political games and join Republicans in reopening the government immediately.
“We have a clean bill ready to go,” he said. “It keeps the government open, pays our troops, secures the border, and protects hardworking taxpayers. Democrats need to stop holding America hostage.”
Johnson’s comments reflect growing frustration among House Republicans who say Democrats are using the shutdown to push through spending on social experiments, foreign projects, and activist groups under the guise of government funding.

He warned that such spending will only deepen America’s fiscal crisis and fuel public anger toward Washington’s political class.
“This is a moment for leadership,” Johnson concluded. “It’s time to put the American people first and end this shutdown—not by giving in to woke demands, but by standing firm for fiscal sanity and common sense.”
